JSAT MOBILE Receives Innovation Endorsement Certification from ClassNK

　JSAT MOBILE Communications Inc. (JSATMOBILE) CEO and President Mr. Katsuaki Koike is pleased to announce that JSATMOBILE has been awarded an Innovation Endorsement Certificate for Products and Solutions* for Fleet Secure Endpoint (FSE) from ClassNK. FSE is a cybersecurity service specifically designed for use onboard ships. This certification was successfully obtained by JSAT MOBILE headquartered in Tokyo, Japan with cooperation with the developer Port-IT BV of the Netherlands and Inmarsat with Headquarters in the UK.

　FSE was developed for users of Fleet Xpress, a high-speed broadband service for ships, and is a next-generation service specialized in protecting ship networks. It provides all essential cyber security features for IMO2021 compliance that are not covered by conventional anti-virus software. FSE features include Network discovery and monitoring, anti-virus, firewall, malware detection and threat analysis capabilities, enabling the collection, analysis and sharing of threat information. FSE includes built in IMO2021 IT audit reporting so that cyber resilience can be easily verified. It is the only endpoint product in the industry that includes 24/7 monitoring by the Security Operations Center by default.

　FSE also features web content filtering, which can block malicious web access. This provides continuous protection against various PC and network vulnerabilities that may occur onboard. Furthermore, it provides a range of protection against threats that may occur from any devices connected to the ship's network including crew devices, USB Memory or other operational technology and sensors.

　FSE significantly reduces the burden of cyber security for crew members, shipowners, and other related companies.

　With the aim of expanding mobile communications services in Japan and Asia, JSAT MOBILE was founded in 2008 as a joint venture between Stratos Global Corporation (now Inmarsat Solutions) and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation. Additional investors are Japan Radio Co Ltd and Furuno Electric Co Ltd. Since its establishment, the company has provided cutting edge satellite communication services including FleetBroadband and Fleet Xpress services and related IT services to numerous ships.
