JCSAT-17 Launch Schedule Update

  SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President: Eiichi Yonekura) and its wholly-owned subsidiary SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eiichi Yonekura) announce the launch schedule for its JCSAT-17 communications satellite.

  JCSAT-17 payloads incorporates S-band, C-band, and Ku-band transponders, which will provide satellite communications service. S-band and C-band transponders will serve for NTT DOCOMO, Inc, the largest telecommunications company in Japan, for its flexible mobile communications services in Japan and the surrounding region under IRU contract*. SKY Perfect JSAT will support NTT DOCOMO’s satellite communications service

  *IRU contract: Indefeasible Right of User
 

  1. Planned launch date    : February 19, 2020 (Japan Standard Time)
  2. Launch site               : Guiana Space Centre, French Guiana
  3. Launch vehicle            : Ariane-5ECA (Arianespace)
  4. Satellite bus               : LM2100 (Lockheed Martin)
  5. Satellite specifications :
    (1) Frequencies: S-band, C-band and Ku-band
    (2) Coverage area: Japan, Asia-Pacific region
      (S-band and C-band cover Japan and surrounding waters.)
    (3) Design life: 15 years
  6.  Planned orbital slot     : 136 degrees East longitude
