SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation implements a startup support program (SUP).

The program supports the human resources, funds, and know-how necessary for preparing for commercialization of new business ideas that have passed the internal screening, and is open to all employees of SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation.

The type of projects that SUP seeks is "one that provides new value to society in line with the Group's mission and sustainability policy 'Space for your Smile,'" "one that communicates the appeal of the Group and brings new connections," and "one that makes the most of the Group's business Assets and customers, and creates a competitive edge that other companies do not have." After the submitted business plan is selected through an internal review, the applicant himself or herself becomes the project leader and conducts activities to launch the business.

After applying, we first go through a document review and a presentation screening, and then we conduct a Feasibility Study (verification for commercialization) for the business plan that passes. With the aim of proceeding to commercialization in a short cycle, we will start with three verification points: verification of hypotheses related to solving customer issues (existence of customers), verification of hypotheses related to marketability, and verification of hypotheses related to business feasibility. The company provides all the necessary funds and personnel so that employees can flexibly engage in the Feasibility Study, and in addition, we also scrutinize the FS plan in a way that is close to the applicant, implement FS verification items, and provide mentoring. Finally, if the Feasibility Study determines that the business plan has no problems in terms of solving customer issues, marketability, and business feasibility, it is time to proceed with the development of the business as a business.

For example, News Picks Learning (e-learning) can be used as a learning tool to freely take courses such as "How to develop a new business" and "Design Thinking," and employees can easily share ideas they come up with within the company. In order to gather friends, introduce external Partners, and gather knowledge, we have set up a place for interaction through an internal portal called "Idea Generator."

Since SUP started in 2018, we have received many applications from employees and 13 have been accepted.

Solving regional issues and creating added value in the sports business

The second is the Arena Stadium Business Project, which is currently being developed as Sol Levante Sports Co., Ltd., which was established by a total of six companies, including SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation.

In the future, we aim to provide solution services for solving various issues and creating value, such as comprehensive support for attracting non-sports events to stadium and other facility operators nationwide and monetizing them through videotaping, etc., and consulting for local governments to open new facilities. It is expected to expand in the future.

In addition to this, we have received many applications and business plans, and even now, employees are volunteering to refine business plans and work toward applications. SUP, which allows employees to proactively propose business ideas and aim for commercialization regardless of position, will continue in the future and strive to lead to the creation of value for the Group.
