Achieving social change through co-creation

"Soramieru" is a solar power generation output prediction solution, which uses AI to analyze the celestial imagery from the IoT device "Sora Tamago" installed in the power plant and the satellite imagery from the meteorological satellite Himawari to predict the amount of solar radiation from 5 minutes to 2 days ahead.

We will contribute to the achievement of the social goal of using renewable energy as the main power source.

In the process of development, several new values were created. The first step, Sea-borne meteorological observations, will contribute to the elucidation of the actual state of climate change. Based on the cloud observation AI developed there, we developed an app called "Kumorogu" that can be used for children's weather learning. The cloud identification AI has been deployed to "Soramieru".

In the future, we will apply the technology of "Soramieru" to cosmic optical communication. Optical communication between space and Ground-based is a problem due to the blocking of lines by clouds. JAXA, Tokai University, and our company collaborated to study technology to avoid clouds. In recent years, the amount of environmental observation data by satellites has become larger, and the speed of optical communication will help to achieve the SDGs.

Even a single piece of data can create a lot of value by bringing together diverse perspectives. We would like to continue to innovate to realize Sustainable society through co-creation both inside and outside the company.

Speaker Introduction

Graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Science, Osaka University. After joining Space Communications Co., Ltd. (now SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation), he was engaged in the design and construction of many satellite communication systems as a communications engineer. After the merger of Sky Perfect Communications Co., Ltd., JSAT Corporation, and Space Communications Co., Ltd., he was involved in the construction of a program search system and application development for CS Broadcasting SKY Perfect in the field of Satellite broadcasting. \nIn recent years, we have developed a Sea-borne weather observation automation system using satellite communication, IoT, and AI, and released the cloud identification AI application "Kumorogu" derived from it. Currently, he is leading the solar power generation prediction project "Green Innovation Soramieru" that has evolved the AI of "Kumorogu".
