SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (hereinafter, the “Company”) has identified “Development of Local Communities” as one of its key sustainability themes and is working on “Fostering the Next Generation of Talent” as a core initiative. As part of these efforts, we held a “Family Workplace Tour” on August 25, 2025. The tour took place at the SKY Perfect JSAT Tokyo Media Center in two sessions, morning and afternoon, with a total of 87 participants.

In addition to providing children with opportunities for hands-on work experience, this initiative aims to help them learn about their parents’ workplace environment and duties, thereby deepening understanding of and support for employees’ work, and fostering more positive communication within families.

On the day of the event, after touring features such as the large antennas, the master control room, and the studios at the SKY Perfect JSAT Tokyo Media Center, participants took part in a program production workshop. They divided roles such as director, assistant director, camera operator, and announcer, and took on the challenge of creating a single program. The children’s smiles as they became engrossed in chroma key compositing using a green screen and watching themselves appear on the monitors were particularly memorable.

In the SUB (sub-control room), which supports filming and recording in the studio, participants also experienced video editing and announcing. They enjoyed adding live commentary by shouting “Goal!” to match a soccer scoring scene and operating buttons and levers on the editing console to see how the images changed. At the end, everyone watched the footage they had recorded, gaining an opportunity to learn about the many ideas and efforts that go on behind the scenes of program production.

We hope that this workplace tour will give children an opportunity to experience the world of Broadcasting and telecommunications and spark their interest in the future. Our company will continue to work together with local communities to expand learning opportunities for the next generation who will shape the future.
