SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Eiichi Yonekura; “SKY Perfect JSAT”) has signed a contract with CJ OliveNetworks (Head Office: Yongsan-gu, Seoul; CEO: Yoo In-sang), a leading ICT company of the CJ Group in South Korea, to establish a new video transmission service connecting Japan and South Korea. This is the first attempt in Japan and Korea to open a dedicated line directly connected by the media companies themselves.

 With the signing of this contract, the Sangam Media Center in Seoul, South Korea, and the SKY Perfect Tokyo Media Center (hereinafter referred to as TMC) will be directly connected via an international dedicated IP line, enabling high-quality, ultra-low latency transmission. By having the media companies themselves operate the line, they can achieve rapid transmission, improved troubleshooting, enhanced reliability, and future scalability simultaneously. Additionally, one-stop support will be available for local transmission from Korean event venues in collaboration with CJ OliveNetworks and local carriers.

 As the demand for international transmission of live viewing and OTT platform programs between Japan and Korea increases year by year, the broadcasting and event industries have faced the challenge of balancing 'high quality' and 'transmission costs,' particularly the high cost of international lines. By using this service, broadcasters and event organizers can stably deliver high-quality video, audio, and data while maintaining cost efficiency, enabling them to provide a wider variety of content than ever before. We will work to expand the use of this service as a new distribution platform for Japan-Korea entertainment.

 Furthermore, with the rising popularity of Korean content, the demand for Japanese language support, such as simultaneous subtitle translation, is also increasing. TMC is equipped with the facilities and systems to meet these needs, providing subtitle production and video processing in collaboration with partner companies at reasonable prices. The entire process, from transmission of materials to processing and distribution, can be completed in one stop, contributing to improved operational efficiency.

 Already operational since April 15, 2025, the service has been utilized for live broadcast music programs from South Korea on SKY Perfect TV!'s Korean channel 'Mnet' (Ch658 CJ ENM Japan). In April, the service was used to transmit a K-POP idol group performance held in South Korea for live viewing in Japan, and on May 25, SHINee's concert 'SHINee WORLD Ⅶ [E.S.S.A.Y] (Every Stage Shines Around You)' held at KSPO DOME in South Korea was transmitted for live viewing in Japan and on SKY Perfect TV!'s Korean channel 'KNTV'. Future plans include the distribution of K-POP music festivals, and the scope of utilization is expected to expand.
