SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eiichi Yonekura; “SKY Perfect JSAT”) today announced that it has been selected as a participant to track the Orion spacecraft during the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)’s crewed Artemis II mission*1. Using its ground-based antennas, SKY Perfect JSAT will passively track radio waves transmitted by Orion spacecraft and submit tracking data to NASA to help assess and augment mission support. SKY Perfect JSAT is the only private company in Asia selected as a ground station for this activity.

  In this mission, SKY Perfect JSAT’s ground stations will support one-way Doppler measurement*2 of signals from Orion spacecraft throughout its approximately 10‑day journey around the Moon and back to Earth. Specifically, SKY Perfect JSAT will operate three 13.5‑meter antenna systems to receive Orion spacecraft’s radio signals, precisely measure frequency shifts (Doppler), and provide the resulting tracking data to NASA.

   Since the launch of Japan’s first privately operated communications satellite in 1989, SKY Perfect JSAT has been operating satellites and ground stations for more than 35 years. Today, we own and operate numerous antenna systems across six satellite control facilities throughout Japan. The ground station facilities utilized for this mission are also employed in “JSAT Space Line,” a commercial near-Earth tracking network service launched in September 2025, and represent an important application of the service for lunar exploration.

   Looking ahead, SKY Perfect JSAT will continue to expand infrastructure from the ground to cislunar space, contributing to the safety and reliability of exploration missions and addressing diverse customer needs as a Space Solutions Provider.
