SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eiichi Yonekura; “SKY Perfect JSAT”) today announced that it has successfully received and measured one-way Doppler signals*1 transmitted from the Orion spacecraft during the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)’s ongoing crewed mission, Artemis II*2.

　For this mission, SKY Perfect JSAT was selected as the only private company in Asia to serve as a ground station partner. From the early hours of April 3, 2026 (Japan Standard Time) through the end of the mission, SKY Perfect JSAT will conduct signal reception and measurement from the Orion spacecraft while it is in Earth orbit and throughout cislunar space—the region between Earth and the Moon. Using three 13.5‑meter antenna systems, the company will stably receive radio waves transmitted by the Orion spacecraft, precisely measure Doppler frequency shifts, and provide the resulting tracking data to NASA upon completion of the mission.

　The ground station facilities used for this signal measurement have been operated as part of “JSAT Space Line,” a commercial near-Earth tracking network service. This marks their first application in a lunar exploration mission. The successful reception and measurement of the signals demonstrate that SKY Perfect JSAT’s ground station operational technologies function effectively across a wide operational domain extending from Earth to cislunar space.

　Looking ahead, SKY Perfect JSAT will continue to support the safety and reliability of a wide range of exploration missions while meeting diverse customer needs as “Space Business Pioneers”.

*1 One-way Doppler signals: A technique for estimating a spacecraft’s velocity and orbital parameters by receiving its transmitted radio signals at a ground station and analyzing Doppler frequency shifts. This method supports spacecraft tracking and mission safety.

*2 Artemis II: The first crewed mission of NASA’s Artemis campaign. Orion spacecraft will carry four astronauts on an approximately 10‑day flight around the Moon and return to Earth. (Target launch schedule per NASA communications; see related links below.)
