SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eiichi Yonekura; “SKY Perfect JSAT”) has announced plans to establish a new teleport in Kumamoto (the “Space Port Kumamoto,” hereinafter “SPK” ), its first facility in the Kyushu region, as part of efforts to strengthen its satellite communications ground infrastructure.

SPK will serve as a ground facility within SKY Perfect JSAT’s nationwide operational framework, working in coordination with existing facilities in Yokohama, Ibaraki, Yamaguchi, Hokkaido, and Okinawa. Together, these sites support satellite communication services using geostationary orbit (GEO) and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, as well as ground network services. The addition of SPK will enhance communication capacity, improve network redundancy, and strengthen disaster resilience, further reinforcing SKY Perfect JSAT’s nationwide operational framework.

In recent years, satellite communications and earth observation data have become increasingly important as part of social infrastructure, particularly in the fields of national security and disaster resilience. In response to growing demand both in Japan and internationally, SKY Perfect JSAT has been expanding its infrastructure footprint and advancing the sophistication of its operational capabilities.

With the establishment of SPK, the Company will further strengthen its nationwide operational network, which currently consists of six ground facilities across Japan.
