SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Eiichi Yonekura; “SKY Perfect JSAT”) is honored to be selected by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (Head Office: Chofu, Tokyo; President: Hiroshi Yamakawa; ” JAXA”) as the service provider of observation data for the advanced radar satellite “DAICHI-4” (“ALOS-4”).

  As an authorized distributor of ALOS-4 observation data, SKY Perfect JSAT will deliver these insights to end users while enhancing its proprietary service “LIANA (Land-deformation and Infrastructure ANAlysis).” LIANA leverages satellite observation data to monitor ground deformation across wide areas, supporting effective maintenance and management of critical infrastructure.

  Currently, analysis is based on approximately four annual observation datasets from JAXA’s “DAICHI-2” (ALOS-2), processed by in-house data specialists. With ALOS-4’s higher-frequency, higher-precision data, LIANA will deliver more timely and higher-quality services, enabling rapid disaster impact assessments and early detection of anomalies in aging infrastructure.

About LIANA Service
 “LIANA (Land-deformation and Infrastructure ANAlysis)” is a satellite-based disaster information service jointly developed by SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, Nippon Koei Co., Ltd., and ZENRIN Co., Ltd. Leveraging SAR satellite data, LIANA provides comprehensive situational awareness both during emergencies and under normal conditions. The service enables continuous monitoring of ground deformation in areas with critical infrastructure-such as roads and gas pipelines-regardless of weather or time of day and offers chronological tracking of changes from past to present. This capability supports early detection of disaster risks and facilitates preventive maintenance. About “DAICHI-4” (ALOS-4)
DAICHI-4 (ALOS-4) is a low Earth orbit observation satellite launched by JAXA on July 1, 2024 (JST). Equipped with an L-band synthetic aperture radar (PALSAR-3) capable of all-weather, day-and-night observation, it is expected to be used in a wide range of fields, including rapid disaster assessment, monitoring of crustal movements and land subsidence, forest and agricultural management, and maritime safety, thanks to its wide-area and high-frequency observation capabilities. In addition, it is equipped with an Automatic Identification System (AIS) for ships and an optical communication system, supporting maritime safety and high-speed transmission of large volumes of data, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
